Give the tutor a phone call!
It's super easy to send a message directly to a tutor through our site but once you've connected arrange a time to speak on the phone! It will give the tutor a chance to hear about your needs and ambitions for LAMDA sessions and you'll be able to ask any questions you might have.
See a copy of their DBS Certificate!
This is issued by the Disclosure and Barring Service (part of the Home Office) and certifies that the tutor in question has no criminal convictions and is not barred from working with young people. If you see the "Verified" Logo (left) on our site it means we've already seen and checked their certificate.
Enquire about "Taster" sessions!
Sometimes you'll be ready to jump straight into lessons but, if you're still not sure, then ask if the tutor provides "taster" lessons. These tend to be shorter sessions, often at a discounted price, which give students a chance to try LAMDA lessons and get to know the tutor.
Check their cancellation policy!
The last thing you think about when you're arranging sessions is cancelling them - but, it often happens and it's good to know up front what the tutors policy is. Most tutors will expect to be paid if the lesson is cancelled within 24 hours of the session (excepting emergencies) but the best thing to do is... ask!
